Today on Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Eric and Stevie are going to talk about his plant-based protein diet and where he is with it since we last spoke. I’ll give you a hint. His dad the legendary Jack Shanks had some heart problems which were addressed and taken care of.
After Jack had surgery for some blockages leading to his heart Stevie felt that they should both adjust their diets accordingly so that they both could live a long healthy life. So let’s fast forward the new diet 3 months later and we come to find out that Stevie tested this diet on himself. Though Stevie felt it had some good points to its credit it just didn’t work for the training he was doing and the new goals he wanted to accomplish. The underlying point of this Podcast is he felt much better in and out of the weight room as a Carnivore!
The next topic of our conversation was the Straddle Lift also known as Jefferson Lift. Eric and John McKean just recently brought this movement up on our last  Motivation and Muscle Podcast Titled Power Rack Training Volume Six. This is one of our many strength producing exercises we talked about on the last show. John and Stevie are both big-time practitioners of this lift and Stevie gave our listeners how to’s of the lift. This lift is also known as the Straddle Deadlift. The bar will be lifted between the legs, with a leg on each side of the bar.  One hand will grip the bar in front of the lifter while the other hand will grip the bar behind the lifter. Then execute the lift. I’ve started doing the Straddle lift myself in the middle position of the power rack with a six-second push against the rods with incredible results. I have never been so sore in my upper back. That means new slabs of muscle is on the way. One thing we briefly touched upon was the way this lift will create a much stronger stone lifter. That’s for another Podcast!
