It makes perfect sense to me that Record Store Day occurs in the Spring. I tend to reconnect with vinyl during the months leading up to the day and the months that come shortly thereafter. Beyond that, it helps to break me out of the contemplative boxes that I get myself into with certain mixes. Sometimes I can get so hung up on making some sort of emotional statement with a mix that I forget to have fun with it. Don’t ask me why, but Record Store Day is my yearly reminder that it’s okay to put the storytelling to the side and just play some music. So that’s what this is: a music appreciation session with new finds, old favorites, and previously overlooked cuts hiding out in the collection. And yes , all vinyl. Here’s hoping that you enjoy the set…
