003 Laura Vanderkam Shows You How to Create Success Before Breakfast

November 13, 2015

Nationally recognized author, Laura Vanderkam, talks about her groundbreaking book, What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast, which is part of her popular mini e-book series, including two other short guides to achieving more at work and at home.

These books are quick and easy reads, and I’ve personally read and re-read What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast may times. Laura’s approach to writing this book was to gather stories from some of the most successful people so we could all learn from their wisdom.

We also talk about the “magic of the morning” and how this is the special time to “pay yourself first.” During these early hours of the day, you’re able to nurture yourself in areas such as: exercise, business and spiritual pursuits.

Successful people know that small things done repeatedly have great power.

Episode highlights:

Why Laura likes to plan the week ahead on Friday afternoon, and takes into account all the different spheres-- family, self, business. She feels Friday afternoon is ideal because you're usually not planning something really big at the end of the work week.
Laura believes time is a choice. We all have the power to fill our lives with the things we want to be there. We are not passive victims of busyness. If we're choosing not to do something, chances are, it's because we really don't want to.
