Moms for Christ

Hi everyone. This is Seritta, and welcome to the Moms for Christ podcast. Recently, I noticed my young daughter grumbling to herself when she wasn't getting her way. After a few more times, the Lord led me to consider the example I was giving her. He had me go deeper and showed me my shortcomings. But now, the problem was that my shortcoming was becoming her issue as well.
"The disciples should not get in the way and slow the children's progress down." Matthew 19 verses 13 to 14 says, “Then people brought little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” It's clear that God wants to welcome the children into an eternal life in Christ Jesus. But in this verse, Jesus wanted to pray for the children and told the disciples not to hinder them - or in other words, not to make things difficult for them - to get to their Savior. The disciples should not get in the way and slow the children's progress down.
"...it's my responsibility to clear the way for the Lord to my daughters." As a mom, I care for my children - make sure they know that they’re loved and wanted - but I also realize that it's my responsibility to clear the way for the Lord to my daughters. To be practical, I have to depend on the Lord and have Him get rid of any issues in me that can block them from knowing our Savior Jesus. It may not look like a picture perfect life, but it has to be clear to our children that we have submitted everything to God for His purpose - that our lives are not really about us, but about our perfect and awesome God - and He does care about us!
"I want my children to see God sustain me and be the reason for my joy." Psalms 55 verse 22 says, “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” I want my children to see God sustain me and be the reason for my joy. God wants to welcome His children into His Godly Kingdom, and allow them to be free of hindrances. He wants us to be totally fulfilled in Him, and doing His work! Our life is meant to be an example of how the Lord is loving, powerful, and welcoming!
Lord, thank You for the peace You bring us when we come to You with humble hearts. Thank You for making a way for us to come closer to You with repentance. Thank You for forgiving us of our sin. Please help us to live a life spotless in You. Please help us to go to You and obey You in complete freedom.
