In Modifications No.76 we're featuring five bands who are making music that spans the mod spectrum from power-pop, through R&B to soul and funk. The MKGs hail from Milton Keynes and deliver distinctive instrumentals built on a solid Hammond foundation. And from Ireland we have teenage R&B band, The Whereabouts. We feature the songwriting talents of Luke Smith under the guise of Yellowstone and we cross the channel for some hard-hitting power-pop from The BBC. Eight-piece soul band Mayfield were kind enough to send us their new album and we feature a couple of tracks in our funk section. All this amongst the usual mix of vintage ska, soul, reggae and revival that you've come to expect from Modifications.
