About a year ago I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Timo von Oertzen about the topic of Mathematical Psychology. At that time I was inspired by his passion and love for the field, and I strongly felt the desire to dive deeper into some of the techniques and programming languages that he was discussing. The difficulty is that in learning a new skill of this type, such as the statistical programming language R, it can feel extremely overwhelming.

For those who are in this situation, for example you are attempting to learn this skill but feel as if you need something extra to help you get started, I would highly suggest the book discussed in this episode.  I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Kurt Taylor Gaubatz, who is an associate professor of political science and international studies. In this episode we discussed his book “A Survivor’s Guide To R” Dr. Kurt Tayler Gaubatz provides a fun and interesting approach to the topic, and I believe that his book is an extremely valuable contribution that you should check out.
