Listening with “the Ears of Your Heart”

October 28, 2014

One Sunday morning I had about five minutes before it was time to leave home and go to church. So I turned on one of the religious channels on TV. There was a man preaching whom I had never heard before. He was a Catholic priest, whose name is Father Cedric. It was obvious he was in love with the Word of God. I don't normally listen to Catholic priests on television, but he was talking about how God will speak to you. This caught my attention, because it’s a subject very dear to my heart. He said you should listen to God with “the ears of your heart.” As I listened to Father Cedric, God spoke this thought to me. I believe it was so I could share it with you, especially if you have been wondering whether He will speak to you personally in a critical time when you need to hear from Him. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV) says, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. {23} They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” What struck me about these verses is the declaration, “Great is Your faithfulness.” This will speak to anyone who loves and trusts Jesus, regardless of whatever circumstances that person faces. Why? It’s absolutely true! I’m Dr. Bob. As you recall many of these times, let them speak to you. Then, declare to yourself and anyone else who can hear it that “Great is His faithfulness.”
