Health: Physical Health

August 15, 2015

In this episode-Episode 16--we begin our Health Topic Series.  This topic series will cover Physical Health, Mental Health, and Emotional/Social Health.  We begin with Physical Health in this episode.

We discuss how the body has systems and functions that keep us alive and functioning properly, and how it is our job to take care of our body and keep those systems running.  The best and simplest ways to do this are to: eat well, exercise, and get plenty of rest.  We talked about how exercise can be organized or an everyday activity.  I also promised to share some links on where we can get ideas for healthy eating for ourselves and our children!

For our Fluff Topic, we talked about some our favorite types of exercise.  What are some of yours?

We gave a Movie Review on The Book of Life. We're split on the number of hearts we give this movie.  Between us, we give an average of 3 hearts out of 5 hearts.

We give a Historical Spotlight on Booker T. Washington, Black educator and advocate of Black Americans.  The information on his life came from Biography.com (where you can also find a video biography) and from his autobiography Up From Slavery.
