Gender Expectations and Relationships

February 28, 2016

In this episdoe--Episode 27-- we discuss gender expectations and what effect they can have on our relationships with other people.

Also you can listen to the speech We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, which was mentioned in this episode.

For our Black History Topics, we reviewed Reconstruction and briefly discussed Jim Crow and The Civil Rights Movement.  These discussions are only meant to increase awareness and encourage others to seek out more information for themselves.  In that spirit, here are some websites to start:

PBS does a really great job covering Jim Crow topics and timeline, and they recently produced a documentary on the origins and purpose of the Black Panther Party.

Finally, we gave a Historical Spotlight on Rosa Parks with most of the info coming from Biography.com.

As always, thanks for listening and we hope you'll join us next time!
