Gender Expectations at Work

February 07, 2016

In this episode--Episode 26--we discuss Gender Expectations at Work.  We discuss how gender expectations at home and school translate to gender expectations at work, as well as the gender pay gap and occupational segregation.  In addition, we mention how these gender expectations can affect both sexes negatively.

Happy Black History Month!  Instead of movie or book reviews for our episodes this month, we'll be BRIEFLY discussing periods in Black American History.  This episode, we discussed: Slavery, The Civil War, and Reconstruction.  We suggest reading a book we have previously reviewed: Travelling the Freedom Road: From Slavery to Reconstruction.

For our Historical Spotlight, we discussed hair care entrepreneur and noted philanthropist, Madam C.J. Walker.

Next week, we'll conclude our Gender Expectations Topic Series with Relationships.

As always, thanks for listening!
