Before we talk to Erin, it's time to serve up another MarketPunch.com Tip of the Week.

Today's tip of the the week fits nicely with our theme of running a social media campaign.

If you are running a social media campaign that has a dedicated #hashtag, you need any easy way to keep track of all the messages being shared that are using it across multiple social networks.

That's where #TagBoard come in.

Simply type in the hashtag you want to track and TagBoard will show you the content using your hashtag across multiple social networks including Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Instagram and Vine - all at the same time!

You can even claim and brand your unique hashtag on TagBoard, so others visitors who explore your hashtag can get a little background on what it's all about.

Make sure you add TagBoard to your favorites today.
Welcome Erin Ryan to the MarketPunch Podcast
I can't tell you how excited I am to be joined by my next guest here on the MarketPunch Podcast.

She's a true professional and expert when it comes to automotive social media, she's currently the Director of Social Media at Wikimotive and I know you're just going to love listening in on our conversation. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to welcome the one, the only, Erin Ryan to the MarketPunch Podcast.

Erin is  here today to chat about the 5 P's of Running a Successful Social Media Campaign - Preparation, People, Partners, Publish and Promote.

The background to our conversation is based on an April Fools gag that wasn't a gag that I ran for the LaFontaine Automotive Group that I affectionately called CatMode - where we turned the pictures of cars on our website into pictures of cats...why? because the internet loves Cats!

The twist being, these just weren't random cats from the internet, these were real life adoptable cats from the Humane Society of Huron Valley.

And when I tell you that CatMode ended up being the most successful social media campaign that we'd ever run, I'm not kitten around!

I thought it would be useful to share what I learned from the experience with the listening audience.

So I came up with these 5 P's that served as my guide to launching CatMode. And As it turns out, Erin and the team at Wikimotive ended up playing a large role in the success of CatMode which I can't thank them enough for.

Because of her expertise and involvement, it made perfect sense to ask Erin to join me on the show.

So let's dive right in and start talking aobut the 5 P's one at a time...
Prepare - Do This Before You Do Anything Else
For me, this is probably the biggest one of the P's because if you don't prepare, the other 4 P's won't be as effective....

And more importantly, Preparation is ultimately useful no matter what you are doing...writing an article for your blog, recording a podcast, publishing your social media updates, redesigning your website - in order to be successful, it takes a lot of preparation.

Preparation is also where you'll spend the majority of your time prior to launching your next campaign. It's in this phase that you'll also layout the tactics for the other 4 P's as well.

Before you launch your next social media campaign, Erin recommends that you target your audience in the preparation phase.
