Peta McAuley, mindful transitions

June 19, 2014

Dr Peta McAuley is an organisational psychologist and has maintained a personal mindfulness practice for 20 years. Peta always believed that she had something meaningful to contribute to this world. In the mid-90s Peta left her successful organisational psychology consulting business to explore other options – she wrote a book, completed a PhD and accidentally broke her leg, which is when she became involved in the Buddhist meditation traditions.

Eventually this lead Peta to the teachings of John Kabat-Zinn who developed the Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction Program. Peta was one among a small group of professionals who pioneered the start up of this mindfulness program for the general public in Hong Kong. I talk to Peta about her many transitions, identity, living away from your place of origin and more.

You can go to www.mindfulness.hk and www.petamcauley.com to learn more about the programs Peta facilitates.
