Most of us don’t know how to talk with someone who recently lost a loved one. There are good ways to approach the conversation, and there are bad ways – very bad ways. I talk about a few phrases to avoid and other ways to engage with a widow. I also talk about why “I’m sorry”, although well intentioned, usually is not the best thing to say to a widow.
