Episode 42: International Space Programs

February 04, 2014

For the past 55 years, NASA has been the leader in almost all things related to space and space exploration. With the loss of the space shuttle program in 2011, the spot light of space exploration on NASA almost all but disappeared. That has left other space agencies across the world a chance for their own projects to shine. From the European Union to China and India, international space programs that have been around for decades now get to have some of the attention that was always focused on NASA. Yutu, or "Jade Rabbit" is China's moon rover, the first man-made object to land on the moon in almost 40 years. India themselves have just sent a probe to orbit Mars. Will NASA ever be able to gain back its prestige? Will NASA be able to get that spotlight back?
