VanWebFest Interview with College Humor's Spencer Griffin & Luke Kelly-Clyne - Bonusode #078

March 20, 2015

College Humor is my main, go-to source for distraction from work and it likely is yours, too.

Spencer Griffin and Luke Kelly-Clyne were at VanWebFest leading a workshop on pitching your web series. Clearly from the success of CH they know their shit on what is entertaining and will be a hit on the web. Lots of excellent feedback was given to the potential series creators and, who knows, maybe something will emerge from them someday. There was one mystery project that stood out for them. Who knows?

For now, listen to Spencer and Luke give their big 3 tips for pitching your show. It could prepare you for that 30 seconds in an elevator with an executive producer someday.

One burning question I wanted to ask these gents was concerning the Power/Rangers short film from Joseph Kahn and the backlash from Haim Saban over copyright claims. CollegeHumor puts out a veritable ton of content that parodies other franchises, so naturally I wanted to know what their reaction was to what went down and if companies' concerns for the effect fan films can have are reasonable.
