I wasn’t going to record this week. Everything that’ been going on had me feeling powerless. Another Black person murdered by the police. And another. And another. It’s paralyzing. How many Black people need to die at the hands of an unjust system before we see change? It’s maddening and sometimes it feels like despite having a voice, I’ll never be heard. But I needed to say something. I turned to art to get my feelings out. To express my rage, my fear, and my pride.
