She encourages entrepreneurship because she believes that we are all telling a story that means something. Transitioning to a town in Arizona where she knew no one, she really found that her networking skills were being put to the test. In a way, this is a level of entrepreneurship; going out and making connections with people.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • The best ways to be a smart entrepreneur
  • A little insight on Pamela Slim’s new book, Body of Work
  • How important it is to network everywhere you go
  • How getting hired isn’t the same process anymore, and then how to combat that
  • A great guide to figure out your ideal client

When people begin their jobs, whether in corporate America or otherwise, Slim advises against only networking in your specific company. Branch out! If not only for your own sake, then for the sake of the enrichment of the company.

With the rise of social media, people are sharing more and more information to absolute strangers.

So now, more than ever, it is important to know who you are talking to and who you are relating to. In the same way that you build ‘friends’ on Facebook, you can build clients with your business. Show them the real you, and they’ll be begging to take part in whatever it is you have to offer.

Pamela Slim encourages entrepreneurs who are starting off to make sure they have their dream business, their ideal clients, to make sure that they are connecting with those clients on a regular basis, and to not neglect the foundation of their business.

In her book, Body of Work, Slim talks about using your ‘ingredients of life’ to help you along in not only corporate world endeavors, but individual business world’s as well.

Now, she helps people succeed with her books all over the world, encouraging them to both enlighten and connect with their audiences.
