One Day - Easter Sunrise Service With Pastor Tim Barker
Sunrise Service Easter Sunday on April 20, 2014
One Day
- One Day – God created the world
- He created it in all its beauty a glorious world
- It was a perfect world and He looked on it and said, “It is good.”
- One Day – Sin entered into that world
- With it, came spiritual darkness, disease, deceit that would bring about death for that world and everything in it. Rom. 6:23
- One Day – God sent His Son into the world
- Born of a virgin, in lowly circumstances
- He sent His Son not to condemn the world but to save it. John 3:16-17
- This gift God sent would bring light and life.
- One day God’s Son stood and looked out over a large crowd
- He had compassion on them, He miraculously fed them
- He healed some, he blessed some, he delivered some, he lovingly rebuked some, he taught them
- Jesus LIVED to LOVE .
- 2 Thessalonians 2:16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope,
- One Day – God sacrificed His Son for the world
- One day God’s Son stood before Pilate who pronounced Him guilty and sentenced him to crucifixion to the delight of crowd
- He was mocked and cursed. He was slapped and beaten.
- He was led up Calvary’s mount where He was nailed, hands and feet, to a cross.
- Hands that had touched lepers, blessed children, healed blinded eyes and crippled hands and feet
- He looked out on those who hated and despised him and in a last act of love spoke,
- “Father forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”
- Jesus DIED to SAVE .
- 1 Timothy 1:15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners
- One Day – God forsook His Son alone in the world
- One Day they laid the lifeless body of God’s Son in a borrowed tomb
- He took the sins of the world, my sin – your sin and he was buried with them
- He was there one day, then two, and then three, just as he had said he would be
- Jesus was BURIED to CARRY our sins far away.
- Psalm 103:12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.
- One Day – God raised His Son
- One day, early one Sunday morning, God’s Son rolled away the stone that was placed there to keep Him in
- Death could not hold him, the grave could not keep him
- Jesus came out of that grave having conquered death and the grave
- He was alive, alive, alive forevermore. He declared that we are justified, that is, made righteous in the sight of God.
- Jesus’ RISING brought RIGHTEOUSNESS freely forever.
- Titus 3:7 NLT Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.
