Registered nutritionist and personal trainer, Kristen DeAngelis has accompanied Joe Cross all over the world, helping him keep in shape and keep his diet on track through his busy movie and book tours.

Along with JR’s Angela von Buelow, Kristen has created the What Juicers Eat Meal Plan to help transition into and out of a reboot in the most effective way possible. Kristen brings her many years of training and experience to her interview with Shane and clarifies the decision-making process when it comes to diet and nutrition.

 

Kristen’s Top Juicing Tips to Prep for a Juice Fast

Drink 1 juice or 1 smoothie a Day for 1-2 weeks before beginning a reboot.
Increase your hydration: aim to drink half your bodyweight in ounces of water/day.
Wean yourself off animal-based products and caffeine
Reduce your intake of processed and high-sugar foods.
Clean your Fridge and Pantry out!
Prepare your friends and family so that they don’t try to tempt you.
Follow the 80/20 Rule:

80% Plant –based – 20% animal-based foods
80% Veggies – 20% Fruit in your juices

 

Shane and Kristen discuss the pros and cons of pre-bottled juices, the three letters you should look for on the bottle - HPP - as well as how to read labels on both food and juice products. Kristen also walks us through the definition of ‘processed’ food, and why it’s so important to shop the periphery of the grocery store.

Kristen outlines the What Juicers Eat Meal Plan, which takes the fear and guesswork out of your transition from juice to solid food, and provides an organized, comprehensive toolkit for making sure the results from your reboot will stick.
