The Joe Bev Hour Sunday Edition

The Joe Bev Hour Sunday Edition

Cartoon Carnival Meets the Lone Ranger part 1

April 03, 2015
Host Joe Bevilacqua presents audio of Stan Freberg, Daws Butler and June Foray in the Capitol record The Lone Psychiatrist (1955), Joe Bev and friend ad-libbing The Lonely Ranger (1975), Mel Blanc in the MGM Harman-Ising cartoon The Lonesome Stranger (1940) and The Lone Ranger TV show and motion picture (1956).

The first of 2,956 radio episodes of The Lone Ranger premiered on January 30, 1933 on WXYZ, a radio station serving Detroit, Michigan. Sources disagree on whether station and show owner George W. Trendle or main writer Fran Striker should receive credit for the concept.
