During CNN's GOP Presidential Debate, candidate Jeb Bush’s assertion that his brother - President George W. Bush - "kept us safe," was astonishing. The 9/11 attack, which instantly killed almost 3,000 people on U.S. soil, occured on President Bush's watch after his administration repeatedly ignored warnings that an attack was imminent. Yet Jeb Bush's basic misstatement of fact was never challenged during the debate - even by Donald Trump, whose critique of President Bush prompted the statement.
