Poetry Power

August 06, 2015

With the Annual Poetry Slam about to take place in Oakland, California, we are pleased to honor our guests, poets Drew Dellinger and Barbara Lyon. The National Poetry Slam (NPS) is the largest team performance poetry event in the world. Teams from all over North America, and a few from other places, will converge in Oakland, CA, August 10-15, 2015. Our guests talk about their journeys to becoming poets, the connection between poetry and social justice, and so much more. You’ll hear:

* compelling life experiences that brought our guests into the world of poetry
* the many ways poetic verse has the power to evoke profound responses
* a lively in-studio poetry slam with Drew & Barbara
* about some of the poets we know and love
* how to ignite and cultivate your inner muse
* information about the activist-driven collective - Poets for Global Justice
* some of the best places to hear and perform poetry
