March 22, 2022

Listen in as journalist and scholar Jay Alabaster chats with the JAPAN Forward editorial team on the recent whaling season in Taiji and changes with activism in the area. Sharing some glimpses of the lifestyle of this coastal town, he gives us an idea what it’s like to live far from Japan’s urban centers.

Jay Alabaster is a longtime journalist and now a PhD student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. He is also an adjunct professor teaching at Waseda University from April.
