December 08, 2022

Episode 151 of The JamBase Podcast, a partner of the Osiris Media Network, features an interview with Lake Street Dive‘s Bridget Kearney. The bassist and band’s primary songwriter spoke with JamBase’s Scott Bernstein about the group’s upcoming New Year's Eve concert in Boston, 2023 Gather Round Sounds Tour and more.

Kearney recently caught up with Bernstein via video chat from her Brooklyn home, where she was enjoying a rare respite from the road. Bridget started by recalling the excitement of returning to the road after the pandemic in support of Lake Street Dive’s latest full-length studio album, Obviously. She then previewed the hometown “pajama party” New Year’s Eve show at Boston’s Roadrunner.

The Iowa-bred musician went on to detail the format for Lake Street Dive’s semi-acoustic Gather Round Sounds Tour. Kearney revealed the group is working on new material and spoke about the status of the next LSD studio album. The pair also discussed Lake Street Dive’s recently released Fun Machine: The Sequel EP featuring six choice covers as well as their tradition of putting out cover videos on Halloween. Bridget explained how the band landed on Traveling Wilburys’ “Handle With Care” for this year’s selection. Other topics hit upon were Bridget going electric, LSD contributing a theme song to a Netflix series and her BB Wisely project.
