Denise O’Neill Reveals The Hidden Impact of Body Image

August 05, 2014

One thing I know for sure, is that I am not alone in being someone who has cried at the sight of my body in the mirror. Especially in those awful store dressing rooms. Feeling like there is nothing I can wear to look beautiful. Nothing. How many of you have had thoughts like “they don’t make clothes for a body like mineâ€. How many avoid the site of their own naked body in the mirror. It’s too awful to look at…. I’ve been there, and I’d be lying if I said I don’t go there anymore….but I do.

The people who care about us often have a totally different view:

One of the most poignant things I ever heard was when someone was telling me about his wife… He said, he will never forget the day his wife gave herself the gift of her own beauty.

Denise touches on the following questions in this engaging discussion:

  1. What is the problem/the issue?
  2. Why am I so passionate about this issue?
  3. Why is developing a positive body image so crucial to a woman’s happiness and wellness?
  4. Why is it so essential to redefine beauty from the inside/out?
  5. How does your body image play a role in your child’s development?
  6. Tools to support women to love their bodies.
  7. What is one action women can take today to love their body?

Once I made the decision to build a harmonious relationship with my body, my entire life shifted dramatically.

It was a high mountain to climb and I needed guides if I was going to succeed.

I couldn’t do it alone.

I needed a support network, to encourage and hold me accountable for my actions, and invite me to stretch and grow.
