# Episode 1
## A Rambling Start

Derek and I talk in a rather general rambling manner about some of the concepts we will unpack as our show expands such as the state of digital within Art & Design Education, our need at HE to be ahead of the curve and the impact of digital culture on working design practices specifically around openness and sharing versus ownership and reputation.

We outline a little of our reasons we got into teaching and then look at why Derek ran the lecture series Insights to the Field and its impact on some of our recent graduates.

We skew off a little talking about parents, the government, Level 3 courses struggling to change and understand the role of art & design today and touch on the collisions we foresee coming with the impact of tech and free education.
