"Go into the world with compassion" - Meg Worden

September 12, 2014

On todays show is Meg Worden.  Health coach, single mum, unschooler… and more.

When we talk about what triggers us, we tend to assume it will be for negative reasons…old wounds, childhood experiences, things we haven’t processed properly, but how refreshing to also look at triggers in a positive light.

Meg talks about the feelings of envy and jealousy that arise when we see people – whether they be friends, family members, folk in the public eye doing or being something we would very much like to do and she says this...

‘When you see that, you’re looking in the mirror of what you’re capable of.’

Take a moment and read that again…breathe…read it again.  How beautiful to totally reframe those negatively perceived feelings and look at your possibilities.

It reminds me of the Marianne Williamson piece of being afraid to shine our light. Read that again too (you can find it here)

I have no doubt that working with Meg on taking responsibility for your journey through life and learning to interact with the world from within, not outside of yourself, would be an entirely empowering experience.

This conversation has inspired me to reflect on what I consume – news, information, books, ideas and also how I come to situations – preparing food with positive energy say, rather than being in a grump.

It has also propelled me to check out more of the comedic work of Louis CK and I’ve already signed up to Elizabeth King’s newsletter! Enthusiasm is contagious!

Oh and if you haven’t read Status Anxiety by Alain de Botton…do so.

Of course if you would like to connect with Meg Worden then you can reach her via Twitter @MegWorden or the website MegWorden.com.
