Hey everyone, this is Tim from I Didn’t Wrap My Gift and here is the news.

For those of you who have not already been tracking it, today is International Kiss a Ginger Day.

I did see some traffic on Facebook about this happening yesterday, but the holiday does in fact take place on the 12th of January.

On this day the aim is simple, whenever you see a redhead it is your duty to walk up to them and give them some love.

How did this all begin?

The day originally started in 2008 as a counter response to the “International Kick a Ginger Dayâ€, a nefarious day that resulted in numerous assaults across the world against redheaded youth.

The holiday is wonderful for two reasons:

One, it is a holiday dedicated to getting rid of bullying; I think everyone here can agree that this is a good thing. After all- bullies suck.

Second- since I am married to a redhead, this is one of the easiest observances I will have the pleasure to carry out. My wife is an amazing person and my best friend, so it is easy to walk up and give her a great big kiss.

So don’t be shy, go out and give those redheads some love (Don’t be creepy though)

Also, some congratulations are in order for the href="http://www.ididntwrapmygift.com/personalized-florida-state-university-college-football-locker-room-print/">Florida State Seminole Football Team. They have just completed an amazing year, capping off the 2013 season with a National Championship.

One final note: remember that Valentines Day is right around the corner.

For you guys out there- I will be giving out some good ideas on how to not mess this one up. I know from experience how stressful it is on the night of February 13th and the panic that manifests.

Bottom line, it should not be a day of panic or scorn but a day, (if properly prepared for), that you can show someone how much you care about them.
