Topic: Buying a horse, moving our horse, a horse in a new barn for training or going on an adventure with our horse for trail riding or shows can all create stress for our horse. Understanding what helps our horse feel safe is what helps our horse adapt quickly to new environments. Horses depend on familiar herd members more than familiar environments. When we earn the position of trusted herd member in our horse’s mind, then traveling to new places with our horse becomes a lot less stressful for both of us.
