Topic: Continuing the discussion about how biomechanics and physics overlap, we look at an individual story about a person looking for a new horse and how things went at the PPE (pre purchase exam). Using just one real example we discuss how no horse or rider is perfect, the importance of developing mechanically optimal coordination and how even painful lameness issues can be turned around. Changing mechanical coordination alters the concussive forces through the legs, joints and feet. When we improve mechanics we alter force distribution throughout the body and can restore comfort, eliminating pain during motion, even if we can’t change the current pathology.
