Are your students able to discuss the meaning behind this bumper sticker? Do they know the difference between objective and subjective messages?  It is important that that our students be aware of what is going on in the world around them.  Not only do we need to understand what is happening in our world, we need to understand the spin of the media, the worldviews behind the message, and the consequences that often follow the actions being reported.   Regardless of the topic your co-op is centered around, one can always add current events to the schedule.   Not only will your student become aware of the world around him, but he will learn to think critically and articulately discuss issues well with others.  Listen in to hear simple instructions for adding current events to your co-op!
