Ep. 77 - Absolutely No Shenanigans

May 04, 2014

WARNING: There will be no shenanigans on this podcast. Chuck and I are a hundred percent serious about this one and we want no laughter and no Tom Foolery. We discuss why Tortorella got fired and whether or not he is fit to coach another NHL team. Mike Babcock is entering into his final year of his contract with the Detroit Red Wings and we wonder if he should go ahead and sign an extension with the team. Mike Keenan has won the cup in the KHL, is he ready to come back to the NHL and coach here? The NHL has made some headway in trying to make sure the fans start thinking of their environment. Chuck comes up with some ways to help the fans get on board. The first round is over and I only had two wrong out of eight. The Sharks continued to choke as they always do and the Kings continued to surprise, as they always do. Malkin listens to the podcast and decided to prove us wrong. The second round has started and the best series is already underway between the Habs and the Bs. The Bruin fans have already shown some of their colors by posting racist tweets in response to PK Subban scoring an OT goal. Wild will get their ass ran over. Kings and Ducks should come out to be the more interesting series in the western conference. I argue that the new playoff format is hurting rivalries in the NHL, and Chuck disagrees with me. Lastly we take a look at some great fan traditions and how the NHL is ruining future traditions that could be started by fans. Thank you so much for checking us out and tune in again next week.
