Hey Bismarck Doug Philp here host of Hey Bismarck - Let's Talk podcast.

Thank you for listening in as I introduce myself, the website and what it is Bismarck ARA is all about.

The website BismarckARA.com first came to be 3 years ago as part of my run for City Commission.

Back then the website was built to share my vision during the campaign.

Today, having resurrected the website roughly two months ago, BismarckARA is going to be a site where residents of Bismarck can come read and listen to posts, articles and podcasts relevant to you the tax paying citizens of Bismarck.

You may not agree with me, my ideas or my politics, that is fine by me. I'm going to tell you what I believe, what I think and from there... offer solutions I believe will benefit Bismarck, and not downtown in particular.

Ultimately my aim with the podcasts and website is to get people engaged with the politics of our community. Does that mean fighting City Hall at times? Absolutely!

That said, I really hope to get residents engaged right in their neighborhoods. To help organize neighborhoods into their own active committee ready to do what is right for your neighborhood, rather than be steamrolled by decisions coming from our elected officials. That is, help all of us to get organized from neighborhood watch programs to citizens prepared to actively engage the City of Bismarck to serve us the tax payers.

Specifically we will be paying attention to the City. Educating ourselves on the various commissions, what they do and how they vote. The fact is, we are the tax payers, and as such our elected officials serve us. Sometimes, often actually, things get turned around and some how we residents get left out of the decision making by our officials.

We can do better! We can offer solutions that better fit our neighborhoods because we live in our neighborhoods.
