GaGcast – Episode 185 – Effectual

May 25, 2015

Greetings loyal listeners and thanks for joining us again on the Gagcast. This week the guys talk about the rise of vfx in movies and if it's a detrimental trend. As always before they get into the main topic they talk about what they played this week. Nate continued his journey on a strange new world in Civilization: Beyond Earth. Ray urged people to visit www.bundleofholding.com for great deals on RPG's. The group as a whole started their D&D 5th edition campaign and found the streamlined gameplay very refreshing. James left the hinterlands in Dragon Age: Inquisition and was disappointed that the new Poltergeist lost the magic that was present in the original. Fred has been marathoning Parks and Rec and is looking forward to the Witcher 3.

The main discussion this week is about the trend of critics panning movies for being too bloated with CGI. They guys talk about preferences in practical effects versus vfx and how they hold up over time or influence the movies they're in. Listeners! How do you feel about the increase in computer generated effects and does it negatively impact movies? Let us know in the comments below. Don't forget to like and rate us on Stitcher or iTunes. We also have a new show! Be sure to check out Wicker Smark for all of your wrestling needs. Until next week stay gaming and stay awesome.
