Writer/director George Lucas fundamentally changed the course of Hollywood with his crowning achievement in “Star Wars”. His story of youth, rebellion, and uncertainty over taking a leap of faith has captivated audiences in every generation since its release. Lucas’ earlier work in “American Graffiti”, however, showed the beginning of the famous filmmaker’s journey, incorporating similar themes in a coming of age story that has influenced every film in its genre since. Full of an all-star cast and classic moments that live on in different films that use it as inspiration, “American Graffiti” is truly an essential viewing for film lovers of every stripe.
