“Summer of Blockbusters” continues with 1995’s “Apollo 13”!

In April of 1970, the entire world watched in horror as the Apollo 13 mission to the Moon went awry, and an explosion onboard the American spacecraft carrying three astronauts nearly exploded into the vacuum of space. Director Ron Howard brings audiences on an account of the six most intense days in the history of America’s space program, as an otherwise routine trip to the Moon turned into a rescue mission to bring the three astronauts home. With a star-studded cast spearheaded by the legendary Tom Hanks, “Apollo 13” is full of substance as much as it is spectacle, showing audiences that there is no room for error in the vast beauty of outer space.
