How to Win at Spiritual Warfare Through Prayer, Part 5 (Praying Through the Bible #277)

December 27, 2017

TEXT: Ephesians 6:18-20

In our last message, we began talking about the prayer of agreement as one of the many forms of prayer we should employ in spiritual warfare. This prayer is based on Jesus' words in Matthew 18:19-20: "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." The prayer of agreement was the first act that the early church carried out after Jesus’ ascension. Acts 1:13-14 tells us, “They went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”
