Child marriage is still happening in the U.S. It is still legal in 45 states. There were approximately 200,000 legally married in the United States between 2000 and 2015. But, there's more. People can get Federal Government approval for marrying a minor as young as 13-years-old simply by going to another country and applying for a petition to bring the child bride into the United States. This continues to happen today in 2021.
