Often enough we as believers confuse with talking about peoples sin as gossip. As it says in the word that we only are to have encouraging words for each other and never to tear anyone down. But, there's also passages that talk about how we are to oppose and expose different sins in people's lives whether we know them personally or not, especially those in high positions.
