S1E12 - #runstreak day 1: What is a runstreak?

October 19, 2016

I've done a runstreak before. And I am doing it again. After looking through some pictures from just over a year ago, I see that I've gained 28-30 lbs, but not only that, my clothes don't fit. Weirdly, though, I don't feel as though I look fat. I'm used to looking fat...because I have been my whole life. What I'm not used to (lately) is looking unfit. Looking out of shape. I can't stand that look. So I'm doing something about it. I'm starting a runstreak and podcasting about it every day this week. I am going for 7 days, at least 1 mile a day. So we'll see how it goes. I invite you folks to go with me. Run with me. Streak with me. It's easy, too! Here's all you need to know: A runstreak is running a set minimum distance every single day.  That's it. I am doing it for 7 days. You can do it for as long as you like. This is an easy way to make fitness and running a habit, establish a little discipline, and not take a whole lot out of your day because getting ready and stepping outside doesn't take more than 15-20 minutes total. So whaddya say, wanna go for a run? Also remember that Health Hacks as a new set of social media handles: @geekfitnesscast. It's the same on all social networks--Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
