Brodie Merrill - Growing Pains, Earning A Spot After Being Cut, & The First Person In The Drill

August 01, 2019

Today on the show we have Brodie Merrill.

Brodie is a graduate of Georgetown University where he was a First-Team All-American and the defensive player of the year. He was then the first overall pick in the 2005 NLL draft for the Portland Lumberjax. He was named Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. He’s also an NLL All-Star. In the MLL, Brodie was the Rookie of the Year and was named Defensive Player of the Year 4 seasons in a row. He’s currently the all-time ground ball leader of the MLL. He joined the PLL in 2019 as a member of the Chaos Lacrosse Club. Brodie was also part of Team Canada in the 2006 World Lacrosse Championship, bringing home gold for the second time in team history.

Brodie and I got a chance to talk about a lot of things on today’s show like being a late bloomer, when he was cut early on, learning to be the first person in the drill, and much more.
