Truecrypt is no longer secure …. EVERYONE PANIC!!! As mentioned by my security mentor, Brian Krebs, Truecrypt has closed it’s doors and caused major waves in the paranoid encryption community. So what is up with this? Why did they disappear? Was it the NSA? Snowden… PUTIN!?!? IMHO it’s was M$. You see the notes on the Truecrypt website mysteriously support bit locker. BIT LOCKER! TC is a million times more secure than BL! Why?

Triple Encryption

Random Seeds and Keygens

Hidden PARTITIONS!

So what is my suggestion? Keep using TrueCrypt. Why? Because the FBI gave up on trying to crack it due to it’s complexity.

Ebay was hacked in February or early March. Employee credentials compromised and possibly users. Why are we just finding out about this now?

Steel: In-Home Streaming, a new feature of Steam, is now released to all users. Players who have multiple computers at home can immediately take advantage of the new feature. When you login to Steam on two computers on the same network, they automatically connect, allowing you to remotely install, launch, and play games as though you were sitting at the remote PC.Steam In-Home Streaming allows you to play your PC games on a lower-end computer, such as a laptop or home theater PC, or a computer running another operating system, such as Mac OS X, SteamOS, or Linux.

When you play a game using In-Home Streaming, video and audio are sent through your home network from your high-end gaming PC to another device in your home. From here, your keyboard, mouse, and controller input is sent back to the remote computer.

So, Facebook is about to push out an update for it’s mobile app over the next few weeks that will enable passive listening via your phone’s microphone. First off, congratulations, Facebook, you have now ripped off ideas from both Twitter, Foursquare, AND Shazam (among others), and you’re neck-and-neck with Google as to who can become the most invasive entity out there next to the NSA. (Google, at least, has some subtlety, which is something I can appreciate.)

Secondly, it’s REDUNDANT. Last I checked, I can connect my Shazam account with Facebook, so WHY is this needed, other than to try to further tailor their advertising to their users (most of whom find it humorous, at best, due to tone-deaf choices made by their algorithm, and annoying, at worst)?

Thirdly, (yes, Steel, it is actually a word, high-five), this is more than a bit creepy. If I wanted people to know what I’m watching, I’d post about it manually, or check in with GetGlue so I’d get my stickers for watching certain episodes of Doctor Who the night they air. It’s basically another way of spying on their users, and it’s a little unnerving.

Option: It has long been true that the promise of “just the tip” is more honored in the breach than in the observance. This, just one of the comments on the revolutionary new galactic condom. I explain it.

Audio Ebola

We want to give you some bad music to respawn to. These are our songs:

Steel’s Tarja

As both a Tarja and an Alice Cooper fan this disturbs me to the core. Tarja thinks she can do no wrong…. this is wronger than wrongity wrong wrong

Bob’s

Two dude’s harmonize to all of Miley Cyrus’ greatest “hits.â€

Sky’s–Icona Pop “I Love It†(At one point, the local stations were playing this so much, I could time muffins baking by when it was played. There is something about these chicks’ voices that just…I can’t even describe how it makes my brain feel. Coupled with the beat, and I want to MURDERLATE ALL THE THINGS.)

POPPING SMOKE!

If you’ve ever played hardcore team deathmatch with me you will remember me yelling that in your ears endlessly. Smoke grenades and Thermal sights are an excellent way to not only slow the enemy down, but to pick them off at a distance. One of the funniest comments I heard in a game is when a teammate ran out of ammo and saw my weapon on the ground and grabbed it. “WHAT THAT EFFFFFFF! This has to be Valor’s gun.†What he found was a SAW Light Machine Gun equipped with a foregrip, a thermal sight and a silencer. So now that you know the loadout here’s how to use it. Never toss smoke at your feet unless you have to move out in the open. If you are in place at a chokepoint deploy the smoke where the enemy is clustering to move through the choke point. The smoke will force them to slow down and allow you to pick them off easily. How effective is this tactic? Well I have several gold LMGs and often will get 25+ kills with that load out on a map I am familiar with. So noobs. Let’s turn the tables on those who mock us! Let’s use real world tactics! Let’s kick some ass!!…. SMOKE OUT!
