12 Hour Notice with JT Hooker and Galore Podcast

September 19, 2012

JT Hooker's early music inspiration comes from 80s Pennsylvania garage punk and 90s German Digital Hardcore. In the late 90s, Hooker got heavily involved with college radio, holding positions as Music, Hiring, and Training Directors. JT grew global record label relations across all genres, charted weekly to CMJ, created the University of Pittsburgh's remote outdoor broadcasting events, interviewed a wide range of musicians at the University of Sheffield (England), and held down the 9-11PM Saturday slot at New York University radio.Shortly after moving to Seattle from NYC in Dec'06, JT learned motorcycle and lived on the Pacific Coast, Vancouver>Tijuana for 8 months. When he got back, Hooker built an audio/visual mobile station ("the shopping cart") and started 12hr notice (twelve hour notice) events- mostly guerrilla-style street parties, announced the day-of. In March '10 at the now-defunct "The Hole", Hooker helped throw after hours parties and curated the Open Wide film/ installation/ photography event. With a year under his belt, Hooker brings the party inside to Seattle bars/ clubs/ private events. JT DJs and mixes eclectic tunes, runs thoughtful beatbox effects over other DJs, and creates live, customized video projections and lighting installations at some of the best parties in Seattle + beyond. Hooker collaborates with some of Seattle's best parties/venues such as ETG, Pony, Chop Suey, Re-bar, The Uniting Souls, The Church of Bass, The Baltic Room, Bumbershoot, The War Room, Three Dollar Bill Cinema, Cal Anderson Park, The Eagle, Qulture Qreative, trapeze parties @ The Emerald City Aerial Dome, Capitol Hill's Hollow Earth Radio, and various events on the empty lot of 500 Pine with The People's Parking Lot.Hooker currently holds a monthly DJ residency at The Eagle called ROUGH TRADE (usually third Thursdays, always no cover), and monthly VJ residencies for the Uniting Souls' ((DIALED)) parties at The Baltic Room (fourth Saturdays) as well as Qulture Qreative's LEZBRO party at The Wildrose (second Fridays).
