Belize – Top Tips for Permit, Tarpon & Bonefish with Melvin McCaleb, Ernest Garcia, Max Neil and Ben Furimsky

June 01, 2023

Permit are considered one of the top saltwater game species.  Ask any permit fisherman and they will tell you how finicky they can be. But that’s what makes them so rewarding. Ben Furimisky and I spent a week at Tarpon Caye Lodge in Belize and were blown away by the number of Permit we saw. We had shots all day and caught quite a few, even a double.

On this episode of the podcast, Ben and I sit down with Melvin McCaleb, one of the owners of Tarpon Caye Lodge in Belize as well as guides Ernest Garcia and Max Neil.  We get you fully dialed in on top tips for Permit, Tarpon and Bonefish. Rods, lines, leaders and flies and a few funny stories from the week, its all in there.

If you love or have an interest in saltwater fly fishing, this episode is for you.

Enjoy! And please follow along as lots more great episodes are coming your way.
