Episode 58 - Football Hurts

November 21, 2013

Chiefs lose to Broncos but play a solid game. Any chance they can bounce back and beat the broncos at home in a couple of weeks?

Bengals and Seahawks get byes this week. This late in the season and with their divisions basically locked up. Doe the late rest give them enough to propel them past anybody, or does it really matter when the byes are? Should byes be spread over such a large span (weeks 4-12) or should they be condensed to weeks 6-10 to give a more equal playing field.

Saints 8-2, Hawks 10-1, 1 ahead in the loss column. #1 seed?

The Eagles, as bad as we said the were earlier in the season. As bad as their defense has been, they’ve won 3 straight and finally one at home.

The Jets proved again that they stink. That they are who they thought they were. Coming into this season they were supposed to be 2-14. They are not 5-5 and still in the lead for the final playoff spot in the AFC. For all the people that have been blasting the jets after their horrific loss to the Bills last weekend, I have this to say:

The Texans and Falcons were Superbowl favorites and they’re 2-8. The Redskins and Vikings made the playoffs last year and have worse records. The Ravens won the Superbowl and are 4-6. Even the Packers are 5-5. This is also dealing with a rookie QB, injuries all over at WR and TE, a new OC and the third in 3 years. Which brings my to my next point:

Rex Ryan has been with the team now 5 years. He’s had 2 QB’s who have been at or below average at best. Sanchez was never considered to be an above average qb and geno has a lot to learn. If they make the playoffs this year, Rex would have taken the jets there 3 times in 5 years, despite his inadequacies at the QB position. give the man some credit.
