As injuries continue to mount, more and more players listed on depth charts as qb’s have gotten an opportunity to play some football. Technically 56 different qb’s have attempted passes this year, but that includes some garbage time snaps. As far as QB’s who have seen legit action, that is a guy going out there and trying to win the game, the number is still quite high. 48. The Browns, Bills, Packers, Vikings, Texans have all turned to 3rd stringers to try and get W’s.

One interesting name I want to bring up is Nick Foles. Aside from his 1 atrocious game against dallas in which he only completed 37% of his passes and couldn’t manage to find the endzone, he has had completion percentages of 64, 71, 78, and 66% He’s thrown 10 TD’s in his last 2 games and 16 overall this season. Most importantly, he’s thrown 0 interceptions. Is Foles the real deal? He’s basically got the Eagles back to .500 and in position to compete for that division. Is he the guy of the future, and where does Mike Vick play next year? Will he accept another back-up role?

Giants are on a 3 game win streak, but those wins consist of the Freeman led Vikings, the Barkley led Eagles, and the Raiders. They have a break with GB coming up and their QB situation is a mess. But can they beat Dal, Was, SD, Det, Sea, Was? They need to win minimum 5 games. Can they?

The Texans seems to rolling with Case Keenum, and although he’s 0-2 as a starter, they played really well against a good Colts team last week and a surprisingly decent Cardinal team. He’s managing the game well and hasn’t thrown an interception yet, which is a huge plus for a young kid.

Best chance of starting next season: Terrell Pryor, Case Keenum, or Mike Glennon

In the AFC we have the division leaders (Pats, Bengals, Colts, Chiefs. Then there’s the Broncos at 8-1. And then there is only 1 team left over .500: the Jets. After losses by the Titans, Dolphins, and Chargers this past weekend, they are a full game ahead of anybody else in the wildcard hunt and completely control their own destiny with a relatively easy schedule the rest of the season. Now I don’t really want to focus on the Jets right now, but does the lack of winning records in the AFC mean inferior teams, or more parity? is it just great competition where we can legitimately say that on Any Given Sunday you can either win or you can lose? The Rams just beat the Colts 38-8 with Kellen Clemens under center. (even though he only attempted 16 passes, he completed 9 for 247 yards!)

The Panthers are 6-3 coming off a big win IN San Fran and are 1 game behind the Saints. They have a big MNF game against the Pats this week. Any change they can pull the upset and if they do, can they take that division or make the playoffs? Would you be afraid to play the Panthers again?

The Ball Hawk Ed Reed gets released. Pats/Jets favorites to sign.

Buccs and Jags get first wins. No winless teams. left in the NFL, only goose egg belongs to the undefeated chiefs.

Matt Flynn returns home to Green Bay but doesn’t get the start in place of Scott Tolzien, fair or foul?

Rob Ryan, fired by the Cowboys this past off season and hired as the Saints new DC after one a historically bad season defensively. Saints now rank 7th in total defense and 5th in scoring defense. This past sunday the Saints owned the Cowboys and even got Jerry to admit that it may not have been the wisest thing to replace Rob Ryan. How long until Jerry realizes he does in fact need to replace Jerry.
