Casey is a licensed social worker with many years of experience in the non-profit sector as a counselor, advocate and community organizer. Casey also has been a presence in the infertility community as a writer and activist, using her own struggle with endometriosis and recurrent pregnancy loss to help others.

Common stumbling block for people trying to conceive
  • Endometriosis has major impact on a woman’s fertility e.g. egg quality, egg quantity, implantation, fetus development

Misconception about fertility
  • Periods aren’t supposed to be painful.

  • Pregnancy cures endometriosis.

  • Endometriosis can affect many parts of the body.

  • Birth control pills and hormonal medications only cause temporary relief from endometriosis.

What is one thing that people can do to improve their outcome?
  • Seek an endometriosis excision specialist

  • Consider egg freezing

Mental, emotional or environmental factors that impact fertility

  • Talk to a counselor or seek out a support group
  • Gluten and dairy free diet
  • Chiropractic
  • acupuncture
