This week we have the creators of Guilty the webseries on to discuss the inspiration for their new show, mainly religious guilt and what's that's meant as women navigating sexuality in their 20's. Here from the team we have Katie Novotny, Emma Smith, and Erin Conroy!
We start things off by talking about how the three all met, and then dive into how religion was part of their upbringing. We dig into some specifics of Catholicism and how sex and female bodies were deemed shameful by the church. The women talk about the eventual evolution out of their strict religious beliefs and finding their own sexually.
Next up we dig into the improv scene a bit and the dating and matings that seem prevalent in any insular community.
Then we talk about the inception of Guilty, the making of the series, and what the team hopes comes from it's creation.
