Episode 33: The Murder of Kitty Genovese

August 20, 2021

This episode is a special one: not only are we a third of the way to one-hundred, but it also features the case of a murder victim who shares Lorenzo's last name! Kitty Genovese was a young New York girl who worked hard and played harder. On a fateful Friday the 13th in 1964, Genovese was making her way home from work just shy after two in the morning. She was followed and subsequently attacked and stabbed by a complete stranger. Although there were multiple witnesses who heard and saw the attacks, the police weren't summoned. This allowed her attacker to return and cause more damage. The weirdest component of this case is that there was absolutely no connection between Genovese and her killer, which makes it all the more sinister. It is the textbook definition of a "wrong place, wrong time" crime. This murder examination will be sure to give you a Friday fright! We hope you enjoy today's episode of The Evil and Eerie Podcast!
