At our Fall DRE/CRE meeting we announced that as part of our new digital hub for formation in evangelization and catechesis we will be publishing podcasts to support those who serve in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. This one is a short introduction to the initiative. Stay tuned for a series on evangelization that begins next Monday, titled, Disciples of Jesus Christ, First and Supreme Evangelizer. This series will focus on the post-conciliar history and theology of evangelization through the lens of a term introduced by Pope Paul VI in Evangelii Nuntiandi (Evangelization in the Modern World). It is here that Paul VI provides the proper orientation of evangelization, reminding Christians that Jesus Christ is the first and supreme evangelizer and any talk of evangelical renewal can only be understood in the context of being evangelized anew by the Lord Jesus.
